She’s Like The Wind
Authors Note: Moldy Volde is gone. Harry killed him in book five at the Ministry of Magic. Draco and Narcissa were not on the dark side by choice but were forced to be on that side by Lucius. Lucius is an ass and is dead. Draco, Pansy, Blaise, and Millicent are good and were only on the dark side because of their fathers. Draco, Pansy, Blaise, and Millicent still act like jerks sometimes but are good. Harry, and Ron still hate all Slytherins even though the ones that were bad are now out of school and only the good remain. Hermione and Ginny don’t necessarily love the Slytherins but do not have a problem with them. Pansy and Millicent are not ugly. In the books they are described as ugly but in my story they are beautiful. Ginny and Millicent are Lesbians.
{ Hermione’s Point of View }
“Well students it has been another amazing year at Hogwarts. I hope you all enjoyed this year and I cannot wait to see you all again next year. Oh and just a reminder that the train leaves tomorrow at exactly 12:00 o’clock so do please be on time. And I would also like to see Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger after the feast.” Said Dumbledore
“What’s that about?” asked Harry
“I don’t know,” replied Hermione “Probably just prefect business or something.”
“Hy ud he onl ont uh an malboy en” replied Ron with a mouthful of food causing food to fall out of his mouth while attempting to talk.
“Ugh. Ronald chew your food, swallow, and then speak” said Hermione with a look of disgust at seeing half chewed food falling from his mouth.
Ron being annoyed with her for telling him what to do simply ignored her and kept talking. “Op ting ik i om”
“Disgusting” replied Hermione not only because he was talking with his mouthful again but because while he was talking food started falling from his mouth and onto her plate and into her coffee.
Pushing her plate away after her sudden loss of appetite. Hermione just sat there looking at all her friends who she’ll miss terribly over the summer.
While looking around the great hall Hermione’s eyes landed on the Slytherin Prince himself. Looking at him Hermione noticed how different he looks and how much he has changed. Draco no longer had his hair jelled back. Now it hung loosely around his face making him look sexy. He also wasn’t stocky looking anymore like he was when he was younger. Now he was toned and had some nice muscles. No doubt from him playing Quidditch the last five years.
[ DAYDREAM ]
“Hermione oh god! Hermione!” Screamed Draco in ecstasy as Hermione rode him.
“Draco! I love you!” Screamed Hermione as she came.
“I love you too baby!” Screamed Draco as he also came.
Both stared at each other as they rode out their climaxes together.
[ END DAYDREAM ]
Coming out of her daydream Hermione realized she was still looking at Draco and he was looking right back.
{ Draco’s Point Of View }
“…would like to see Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger after the feast.”
“What’ that about?” asked Pansy
“I don’t know,” Replied Draco “So what are you two doing for your anniversary? What’s it been four years you’ve been together?” Said Draco with a smirk.
“Well I don’t actually know what were doing because me lovely boyfriend here won’t tell me ANYTHING ABOUT IT!” replied Pansy while giving Blaise a seriously annoyer look.
“I thought you liked surprises?! You know you girls are so confusing! I don’t understand you!” Said Blaise while giving Pansy a playful glare.
“Blaise were girls it’s just the way we are. So deal with it!” Replied Millicent with a smile.
As Draco sat there watching his friends bicker friendly with each other he felt a prickly feeling on the back of his neck turning around Draco found that he was being stared at by none other than Gryffindors Princess herself Hermione Granger.
As Draco watched he noticed just how much she has changed over the last couple of years. Her hair was no longer an uncontrollable bush but was now silky shiny and cascaded down her back in soft ringlets. Her face was more matured and was no longer the childlike face of an 11 year old but the beautiful face on a 17 year old. She also didn’t wear those baggy sweaters and knee length skirts anymore. Her clothes fit her better and showed of her curves. Not like some of the girls in school who wore skirts so small that every time they moved their feet you could see their ass crack. Or the girls who had shirts so tight that they had trouble breathing. No granger had a more dignified look her shirts showed off a bit of her assets and still let her keep her dignity at the same time. And her skirts were about mid-thigh showing off her sensuous legs and not giving everyone a view of her panties. Draco could not believe how beautiful she was and that he didn’t notice it until just now.
[ DAYDREAM ]
“Oh god oh yes! Harder Draco!” Moaned Hermione as Draco hovered atop her thrusting.
“My god Hermione!” Moaned Draco as he felt her inner walls clenching him.
“I’m almost their Draco” Moaned Hermione as she hit the beginning of her climax.
“Come with me baby!” Screamed Draco as he too began his climax.
With that said both climaxed together.
[ END DAYDREAM ]
Realizing they were both still staring at each other Hermione quickly turned away with a blush creeping upon her face.
Hermione looked back at the Slytherin Prince to find him still looking her was and smiling. Hermione quickly looked away and felt her blush deepen.
“Ut omg ith ou?” asked Ron with a mouthful of food.
“Nothing” was all she said for the dream of her and Draco was for her and Ginny to discuss and for Harry and Ron never to know.
Draco seeing her blush from embarrassment could do nothing but smile at how innocent she was.
“What are you smiling at?” asked Millicent
“Nothing” was all he said for that dream of him and Granger fucking was for him and only him to know about…at least for now.

Chapter One
Draco Malfoy lay on his bed, the black and green coverlet pushed down to his waist. He didn’t seem to notice the chill in the room of the dungeon as he was deep in dreamland. Reliving a dream he has had on numerous occasions.
As he lay on his side in the dream with a warm body spooned in front of him. His hand lay on her naked hip and slowly moved up her side, just touching the swell of her breast. He lightly skimmed his fingertips down her side and down to her stomach. She shifted in her sleep, as she pressed her bottom to his growing erection. He moved her long dark hair to the side of her neck, his lips caressing the creamy skin, as his hand moved up to cup a breast, kneading it gently with his long fingers, as he heard a low moan come from deep in her throat.
His dream girl moved her hand to his that was at her breast and moved it lower down her stomach, then between her legs. She shifted her one leg over his, spreading herself more as his fingers slid down her slick folds to slip a finger, then two inside of her. She brought her hand up to bring it around his head as he nibbled onto the side of her neck, pressing his erection against her back.
‘She is so wet,’ he thought as he rubbed the head of his erection against her heat from behind. He nudged his leg between hers to partially kneel behind her as he positioned his cock at her entrance. She raised her bottom towards him as he inched his way inside of her. He leaned over to kiss the back of her shoulders as he buried himself deep inside of her from behind.
“More.” She moaned as her hand went to his thigh, her fingers digging into the skin.
He withdrew slowly then plunged back in fast and deep. They both groaned as he rammed repeatedly inside of her. He gripped her hip as he set a frenzied pace. “You are so...tight.” He groaned, close to release.
“God.... Draco...!” She cried out as he hit just the right spot inside of her over and over again, until she spasmed around him, clenching him tighter with her inner muscles.
As her inner walls were gripping him tight, he spilled his cum deep inside of her. At the height of his release he cried out her name... “Hermione!”
Draco woke up immediately, his hand still wrapped around his softening member, his cum thick on his stomach. He sat up and rubbed his face with his other hand. “Shit...not again. Why am I dreaming about that damn mudblood.” He said to himself in frustration.
He got up on shaky legs and made his way to his bathroom. Being a prefect definitely had its quirks. He had his own bedchambers and his own bathroom inside the Slytherin dormitories. He stepped under the pulsing jets of water as he washed away the evidence of his dream. He closed his eyes to see her body clearly behind his closed lids, and felt himself harden again at the memory of the dream. As his hand moved down his stomach, then to his cock to relieve the pressure, he wondered what her body really looked like under the school robes and uniform she wears. For now he was content on imagining the Hermione of his dreams under him, moaning out his name.
After splaying the shower wall with his cum, he quickly washed up to go down to breakfast. He got dressed quickly in his school uniform, and took out his gel to apply to his hair. It was empty. He looked to see if he had an extra supply and realized that he had forgotten to pick up some the last visit to Hogsmeade. He ran his fingers through his blonde hair, letting the slight wave fall against the top of his shoulders and hang loosely at the sides of his face. He looked in the mirror and shrugged his shoulders. Not much he could do about it now.
He then made his way down to breakfast. He always liked to go a little later in hopes that he wouldn’t have to watch Crabbe and Goyle inhale their food. It was quite disgusting.
Hermione, Harry and Ron made their way to the Great Hall for breakfast fairly early. Ron and Harry had asked Hermione to check over their potions assignment to make sure it was written all right. She was bent down over the parchments, her head leaning on her one arm as she read Ron’s first, her quill scratching or adding things to the parchment. Ron kept looking worriedly at her scratching and scribbling, fidgeting in his chair as she finished.
“Actually Ron, this isn’t that bad, looks like you actually put some effort into it this time.” She said smiling to her red headed friend.
“Thanks ‘Mione. I’m going to go and rewrite your corrections in my own handwriting so Snape doesn’t give me detention...again.” Ron said as he gathered his books.
She started to read Harry’s but felt him shift restlessly in his seat. She looked to her side and watched him as he looked up, then down to his plate before him. She followed his gaze as he looked up again to see he was looking at Cho, who intern was glaring at him.
“Harry, what’s with Cho? I thought you two were hitting it off the other night in our DA meeting?”
He shrugged. “Nothing.” And continued to play with his food.
“Harry, it’s not nothing.” She said softly as she turned to face him and put her hand over his on the table.
He felt her hand, warm and comforting on his hand. He looked up into the brown of her eyes. “Cho and I kissed up in the owlery the other night.”
“Harry, that’s great!” She exclaimed, happy for them until she really got a good look at him. “What happened?”
“She was all crying and everything after the kiss, saying she missed Cedric and it was my fault that he died. I started to yell at her, said she wasn’t there, she didn’t know what happened. She wouldn’t even let me try to explain. Then I told her to shut her mouth. She slapped me across the face and stormed out of the owlery.”
“Oh, Harry. I’m so sorry.” She brought her arms around him, hugging him as much as she could in their sitting positions. “If she didn’t want to listen or understand, then she doesn’t deserve you.”
Harry put his forehead against hers. “Thanks, ‘Mione.” He whispered as he hugged her back, getting a good whiff of her shampoo or soap. ‘She really smells good.’ he thought to himself as he sniffed again then drew back awkwardly.
“Now, you better be off to your class. I’ll see you later in potions.” She smiled, glad to see him returning her smile. He gathered his books and rushed out of the Great Hall for his first class, Divination.
Draco watched from the Slytherin table the closeness that the golden trio shared. He had to privately admit to himself that he was jealous. None of his friends knew the real him. They just hung around because their parents told them to or they wanted to be like him. When he saw Granger hug Potter, he sneered. ‘God...Scar-head always needs attention.’ He thought to himself.
He followed with his silvery gaze, Hermione walk out of the Great Hall, her nose in a book, as usual. His thoughts went back to his dream and he closed his eyes briefly, reliving the dream over and over, hearing her soft moans in his head. He shifted in his seat uncomfortably, glad that the school robes were loose. He nudged Crabbe and Goyle. “Come on then, before you eat everything on the table”, he sneered at the two goons.
During lunch, instead of going to the Great Hall for a bite to eat, Hermione opted to instead go to the library to finish some last minute touches to her own potions assignment. She always liked to put that little bit extra effort into it, regardless that Snape, does not notice or care. She look at the time. “Gods, I’m going to be late.” She panicked to herself as she literally threw her books into her school bag haphazardly. She rushed out and down the stairs to head to the dungeons. As she rounded the corner to the potions classroom, she collided with a solid body. She fell on her bottom, her books splaying out of her bag, her skirt riding up as she tried to sit up.
“Shit, not now.” As she bent down to pick up her books.
“Such language. Five points from Gryffindor for foul language.” Draco sneered down to her, liking the view of her bared thigh from her fall.
She looked up and glared. “Malfoy, you are such a git, do you know that?”
“I’ve been called worse Her...Granger.” He replied as he held out his hand for her to take.
She looked at it with distrust, noticing the slip of his almost saying her first name. “No, I can do it myself.”
“Come on, I promise not to bite.” He sneered. ‘Much.’ He added to himself.
She placed her hand in his, against her better judgement and gripped her wand in her other hand, in case he was to try anything. He pulled her up with a bit more force that was necessary, so that she ended up against him, her hands against his chest.
“Uh. Thanks.” She said quietly as she got a good look at him up close. His eyes were a Smokey Grey as he looked down at her. She noticed that his hair was not gelled back and liked the look. ‘Wait a minute Granger...you do not think he looks good.... Snap out of it.’ She thought to herself as she pushed him back.
She gathered up her books quickly, her cheeks flushed and hurried into the classroom, very confused about the feeling that she just had a moment ago about Malfoy. Malfoy followed closely behind her as they entered Snape’s domain.
“Well, I’m glad the two of you decided to grace us with your presence.” Snape sneered. “Ten points from each of your houses for disrupting my class. As holidays start in a couple of days, you will serve detention the first night back. Now sit in your seats.” He ordered as he tapped the board with his wand. “This is the potion you will be brewing today. During your ‘little’ break, you are required to research this potion and the uses it has.”
Hermione sat beside Harry and glared back at Draco, who was looking at her. “Stupid git.” She muttered as she copied down the notes to the potion.
Later that night Draco stood outside the door of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, ready to knock on the door. He had to report to Professor Umbridge what he had found out about Potter’s little DA meetings. He had overheard the Ravenclaw, Cho talk about it with her friend, how they were learning some of the spells and hexes to defend themselves. The door was partially open, and he heard two voices. Both of them have known to him.
A deep male voice was talking, a voice he knew all too well. “Really Umbridge, do you really want to do harm to all the students at that Quidditch match. There is after all purebloods playing that match.”
Umbridge laughed. “It’s for the sake of the Dark Lord. As long as Potter is one of the casualties, no one else is a concern to the Dark Lord.”
“The Dementors you hired did not do the job in the summer of getting rid of Potter, what makes you think that this plan will work?”
“Because Lucius, I am a lot smarter that them. As the snitch is caught, it will in turn cause a wave of magic to sweep the pitch making everyone lose his or her powers. Potter will be defenseless, along with Dumbledore against the Dark Lord.”
“Are you forgetting that my son Draco, is playing that game?” Lucius asked.
“No. I have not. He has been loyal to me and leads my inquisitor squad well, but he is just a pawn in the big game, he is expendable.”
“Yes...I suppose you are right.” Lucius sighed in agreement.
Draco stepped back quietly, his back to the wall. He couldn’t believe what he had heard. He knew his father could be cold hearted, but the fact it was directed at him, hurt him deeply. His own father did not care what happened to him, or if he lost his magical powers. He walked back to his own dorm room in a daze and lay down on his bed, fully clothed as he thought over his life and what his future could be. If he had a future.
He lay there most of the night, fully awake, still fully clothed. His mind in turmoil. Everything he has believed in while growing up was a lie. His father did not care for him, was willing to sacrifice him for the Dark Lord. He was never really close to his father, but he thought deep down there was a little love that he felt for his son. Now he knew the truth on his father’s feelings. He finally did manage to doze off with the image of him kneeling down to Voldemort. Voldemort curses him, and his father laughing at his anguish.
Quite early in the morning the next day he made a decision, a fairly tough one for him. He got up, not even bothering to change the clothes from the day before, and went out of the dungeons. His feet led him to the giant golden phoenix that led to the headmasters office.
“Bertie Bott’s.” He said as the giant bird started to spin to reveal a set of stairs. As a prefect he was given the password to the Headmasters domain, just one of the many privileges he received in becoming a prefect. He stepped on the step, then waited as it spiraled up to another door; this one made of a heavy wood. He knocked, his hands sweating in nervousness.
“Come in.” Came the reply.
Draco walked into the circular room and approached the white haired wizard who sat behind the large desk.
“Sit. Sit Mister Malfoy. What can I do for you?” Dumbledore asked as he peered above the half-moon spectacles, noticing the usually immaculate dressed young man looking ragged and confused.
“Well, sir....” He hedged as he looked to the window as the sun started to make its slow climb up in the far horizon.
“You know I will try to help in any way I can, but you need to tell me what the problem is first.” Dumbledore said softly.
“Well...I overheard Umbridge and my father talking. They are planning on hurting some people, innocent people. I also overheard them say it was for the Dark Lord.” Draco said quietly looking down at his feet.
“Yes. I expected as much. What are they planning Draco?”
As Draco repeated all he had heard including that he was to be one of the ‘victims’, he felt relieved to share his burden. “Sir. I would like to stay here over the break. I do not want to go home. I could let you know of anymore plans that they make, be your inside guy.”
“It is too risky.” Dumbledore said shaking his head negatively.
“I want to do this Professor. I have a lot of years to make up for.” Draco said, not taking no for an answer.
“Are you sure Draco? It could be quite dangerous. You would have to keep the pretense that you are on their side.”
“Yes. I am sure sir.”
Dumbledore delved into the young man’s mind through Legilimency, and saw that he was indeed sincere in wanting to help them, wanted to change his ways. “Alright, but if there’s the slightest indication that you have been found out, come to me immediately. As for the holidays...I believe...” his eyes twinkled mischievously, “that you have prefect duties to attend to.”
Draco smiled, “Yes...I think that I am needed here. I do take my duties seriously.” He sighed in relief.
Draco made his way back to his rooms to change for his classes for the day. The last day before the holidays. His heart was still heavy at the betrayal of his father, but he hid it well as he deducted points from some unsuspecting second year for mimicking Professor Umbridge, while inside he found it quite humorous.
Speaking of ‘witch’, he had a meeting with her and the other members of the inquisitor squad after dinner that night. He wondered what new ‘decree’ she was going to lay down tonight. She was a power hungry witch, and seemed to put a new decree out every week. He shook his head and hurried to change his clothes.
Chapter Two
Later that same day, Hermione was walking with Harry and Ron to Care of Magical Creatures, the class that Hagrid took over in their third year. “It would be the perfect time Harry to get everyone together.” She started quietly as she looked around her to make sure no one else was listening. “Umbridge has her weekly meeting with her goon squad and it usually lasts a couple of hours.”
“I don’t know Hermione, we were awfully close in getting caught last time. I think Umbridge may becoming suspicious.” Harry said worriedly.
“It’s up to you Harry. We could remind the members to be more careful, be more aware of the people around them.” Hermione hedged.
“Okay. I don’t think we should have a long meeting tonight. No new spells or hexes.” Harry sighed giving in. “Any word from Luna when her father is releasing that issue of ‘The Quibbler’?”
“Comes out tomorrow.” Hermione replied. Hermione had arranged with Harry to tell his version of what happened at the Tri-Wizard Tournament last year and how Cedric Diggory died. And most importantly to let the wizarding world know that Voldemort, he-who-must-not-be-named, was back and gaining strength and followers. “You know Harry, some people will still not believe you after they read the article.”
Harry grinned sadly. “A lot of people already think that I’m mental, this won’t make much of a difference. But if there’s a chance for more people to believe that he really is back, it’s worth it.”
“Remember that I’m here if you need to talk Harry.” She said as they started to pay attention to Hagrid’s lesson.
When they were led into the clearing where Hagrid had his next lesson, Hermione felt uneasy as Draco walked behind her. She turned around and glared at him, then turned her back to him, determined to ignore him. The new creature they were to study today ended up being a couple of thestrals. These creatures are the one’s that pull the carriages for the second to seventh years to Hogwarts from the Hogsmeade train station. Hermione strained to see them and leaned close to Harry. “Harry can you see them?” She asked.
“Yes. I first saw them on our first day at Hogwart’s. Didn’t want to say anything in case you thought I was losing my mind.”
“Why can you see them and I can’t?” She asked, not noticing that Draco stood beside her.
“If you see someone die, you are able to see them.” Draco said quietly.
Hermione looked to Draco. “Who did you see die Malfoy?” She asked.
He shrugged his one shoulder. “My uncle, he died from a-wizarding flu that there was no cure for.”
“What do they look like?” She asked as she looked to Draco, Harry listening in on the conversation with growing irritation. Ron was paying them no mind as he listened to Hagrid.
“They have black skin, no fur, their skeleton clearly visible. Their head resembles a dragon, their eyes white, no pupils. At their sides they have vast black leathery looking wings enabling them to fly.” Draco stated as he looked to a couple of creatures’ tear away at a dead carcass, eating there.
Harry gripped Hermione’s arm, “Come on ‘Mione, Ron, let’s get closer.” He said getting Ron’s attention, and stalking off away from Draco.
Hermione looked back to Draco to see him give her a fleeting smile, an actual smile, which was if realizing what he was doing, put in places his ever-present sneer. She turned her back to him and shook Harry’s hand off her arm. “You can let go now Harry.” She said irritably.
Harry looked where his hand was and quickly removed it. “Oh...sorry ‘Mione. Just wanted to get away from the bloody git.”
“Did what he say about the thestrals true?” She asked.
“Yes.” Harry replied simply.
“I wish I could see them.” She said frustrated.
Harry looked at her sadly, “No, you don’t ‘Mione.” Thinking of seeing Cedric die and nothing he could have done to change the outcome.
She spent the rest of the class silently; occasionally giving a quick glimpse to the group of Slytherin’s at the edge of the clearing, every once and awhile meeting the gray eyes of a certain blonde Slytherin.
Draco half listened to his fellow housemates as he watched Hermione. He could see the frustration on her face because she could not see the creatures; by the way she was biting her lower lip. He also noticed the way the sunlight that was peeking through the trees would shine on her hair, remembering the smell of strawberries that her hair gave off from helping her up in front of the potions classroom. He mentally shook himself as he listened intently to the students around him, seeking any kind of information for Professor Dumbledore.
Draco lay in bed that night, his thoughts on his meeting with Umbridge. She was truly a power mad witch. A new decree would be posted tomorrow:
Decree 27: Any student in possession of the magazine ‘The Quibbler’ will be expelled.
It would appear that Potter gave an interview to Rita Skeeter on what happened at the Tri-Wizard Tournament and how Diggory died. The Inquisitor Squad would be on the look out for this magazine and to report names to Umbridge. Draco thought he was lucky that most of the squad were dunderheads. He should have no problem making sure the students who were in possession of the magazine were not found out.
There was no way to let Dumbledore know of this latest development right away, as the floo network is being monitored and the mail is being watched. He didn’t want to risk getting caught sneaking up to the Headmasters office. He is going to have to find a better way to inform them on what is going on. Mind you Dumbledore always seems to know what’s going on, probably from all the loyal portraits that are hung all over the castle.
He slept that night fitfully, his dreams about Hermione and himself again. Same dream, different location.
Chapter Three
Hermione sat in the Gryffindor common room reading ‘The Quibbler’. Luna’s father, the editor of the magazine sent a couple of copies first thing in the morning. It simply apparated to Luna’s bed, no owl post to be monitored. She read through the ale, le, pleased at the way it turned out. She hoped there would be more supporters against Voldemort after this came out to the wizarding public.
Her head turned up from reading when Professor McGonagall entered the common room. The Professor posted up a notice, her face showing she was not a happy witch. She looked to Hermione, “You best keep those magazines hidden, and let everyone else know in each of the houses. Umbridge has passed another bloody decree.” She said irritably. “Damn woman.” She added under her breath as she left through the portrait.
“Thank you professor, I will.” Hermione replied and got up to read the notice. She gave a very un-lady-like snort then made her way down to breakfast. Today was Saturday, and a prefect meeting was planned for later that afternoon, before the majority of the students went away for the holidays. She planned on just hanging out for the morning, maybe hitting the books later at the meeting.
She spent the morning with Ginny while Harry and Ron were playing Wizard’s Chess. Ginny had found a book in the restricted section of the library that they were looking through that was quite graphic in content.
“Ginny....” Hermione turned the book sideways, seeing a naked man and woman enjoying oral sex. “...how did you know about this book?”
“Michael showed it to me earlier this year, before we ...broke up.” Ginny replied shrugging her shoulders and looking at the pictures with Hermione.
Hermione looked to her redheaded friend. “Did you try any of these things in the book?” As she flipped the pages to see the man and woman in various sexual positions.
“A few.”
“Like what?” Hermione asked as she watched the couple on a particular page.
Ginny looked down at the page Hermione was looking at. “There’s that one....”
“Didn’t you gag?” She laughed quietly as Harry and Ron had looked over to them.
Ginny started laughing. “It felt like it at first, but it’s something I enjoy doing now. And the guy really likes it too.”
“Hmmm.....” She murmured as she gazed at the picture. Before her it seemed to change. The man’s hair went from black to blonde, the woman looked remarkably like her. She shook her head to clear the image. ‘What the hell am I thinking.’ She thought to herself.
“‘Mione, are you okay?” Ginny asked.
Hermione leaned over closer to Ginny. “Can you keep a secret?”
“Of course.”
“Well...I’ve been dreaming about someone. Even during classes, he would pop in my head. It’s really quite distracting. I don’t know what to do Gin.”
“Who is he?”
“I don’t know...you’ll think I’m bloody mental.”
“It can’t be that bad.”
“Yes, it can. Although he has been acting strange for the past day or two. I’ve even caught him looking at me and actually smiling, instead of sneering at me in hate.”
“You can’t mean...” Ginny started.
“Yes. Malfoy.” Hermione finished. “Haven’t you ever liked someone that you knew there was no chance of being with?”
Ginny looked to Harry wistfully. “Yes.” She said quietly.
Hermione saw the look she threw to Harry. “I thought those feelings for Harry weren’t there anymore?”
“I thought so too. But I realized after Michael that I still had strong feelings for Harry.”
“Why don’t you go for it?”
Ginny looked to Harry then Hermione and smiled impishly. “I’ll go for Harry, if you go for Malfoy.”
“Are you kidding?! Malfoy hates me. At least Harry likes you.”
“I thought you said you caught Malfoy looking at you?” Ginny smirked.
“Yeah, but....” Hermione stuttered, her face red.
“Well, let’s test it out. You have a prefects meeting this afternoon right?” At Hermione’s nod. “Let’s see if he notices you more if you dress differently. Those school robes hide everything.”
“What are you thinking Gin?” Hermione asked suspiciously.
“Come on...you have a meeting to get ready for.” Ginny smirked. “I wish I could be there to see his face.”
Throughout the day, Draco managed to confiscate about twenty copies of ‘The Quibbler’, then made them disappear, conveniently forgetting to note down the students name. On one such occasion, Dumbledore and McGonagall had witnessed him spelling the magazine to disappear. Dumbledore grinned, his eyes twinkling at what he was doing, dragging away a confused McGonagall.
Draco decided to hide away a copy so he himself could read the article, see what all the fuss was about. He spelled the magazine to look like a Quidditch magazine and sat in the library to read it. Before sitting down, he surveyed the library, in hopes of catching a good look of the brown haired Gryffindor, as she usually was found in here. He didn’t really fear getting caught by the squad members or any other Slytherin’s, as most of them have never even stepped foot in the library. He sat in the corner, his feet propped up on the table as he read Potter’s tale of the Tri-Wizard tournament and Voldemort. Unlike some wizards, he ‘did’ believe the article because he did know for a fact that Voldemort was back and gaining strength and power. He grudgely admitted to himself that Potter was not mental and the article would probably gains some positive supporters against Voldemort. He decided that he would be one of them.
After reading the article, he went between the bookcase in the guise of looking for a book, to spell the magazine away. He did actually look to the books to see what would interest him. He loved reading, always did. He picked out a book that looked out of place among the wizard history books. It read ‘101 Ways to Win Your True Love.’ He kind of snorted to himself but leaned against the bookcase flipping through the pages anyway.
He was reading for awhile when he looked to the time. It was almost time for the prefect meeting. The meeting was to be held in the library, but first he needed to send an owl to his parents to let them know he would be spending the holidays at school doing prefect business. He checked out the book from Madame Pince, the librarian, who gave in him a rather odd look as she looked down at the title of the book. He shrunk down the book and stuck it into the pocket of his robes.
On the way back to the library from the owlery, he had found a student with ‘The Quibbler’. He took it from them and slipped into his robe, shooing the student away. He looked up to see that Hermione was looking at him strangely, as she was approaching the library. He smiled then sneered straight away as he saw Umbridge come up behind honeHon.
He saw her look behind her then turned to face him again with a look of hate on her face. “Mister Malfoy...Have you caught any students with that magazine?” Umbridge asked as she came closer.
“No Professor. I’ve been on the look out. But they are either keeping them well hidden or the threat of being expelled has kept them from reading it.” He replied giving her a sincere expression. Being a Malfoy, he was a master at hiding his feelings from others. “What is even in the magazine?”
She cleared her throat. “That is none of your concern. Be sure to report to me at once if there are any students out of line.” She bellowed out as she stormed to her rooms.
“Yes Professor.” He said as he watched her retreating back. “Bitch.” He said quietly to himself as he walked towards the library.
Hermione had heard the exchange of Malfoy and Umbridge as she kept herself hidden around the corner. She was quite puzzled, as she saw him take the magazine from the frightened Ravenclaw. She wondered why the student was not revealed to Umbridge. She gathered her robes closed on her Muggle clothing and walked slowly to the library where Ron was waiting for her by the doors.
Ron didn’t seem to notice anything different about Hermione, but then he usually doesn’t when it comes to her. They were too close, like brother and sister. She thought she had fancied him once one time, but the friendship she had with him and Harry was too important to her.
At the thought of Harry, she thought he was acting a bit strangely also, like he wanted to get closer to her. She would have to have a talk with him soon. He was her best friend; she wanted to keep it that way.
She and Ron were one of the first two prefects to sit down around the round table. The Head Boy and Head Girl were also there sorting through their notes. Ron was talking about Quidditch, nothing new there, while Hermione occasionally looked up to see the other prefects enter. First there was Ernie Macmillan and Hannah Abbot from Hufflepuff, Anthony Goldstein and Padma Patil from Ravenclaw and lastly Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson from Slytherin, sauntering in as if they owned the place. To her surprise, Malfoy pulled out the chair next to her and sat down, waiting for the meeting to start.
Draco sat listening to the meeting, his thought going to the Gryffindor sitting beside him. She had pulled the sides of her hair away from her face and clipped it at the back, letting him see the profile of her face. She really wasn’t that bad looking for a Muggle, definitely better than his housemate Pansy who sat on the other side of him wasn’t.
It felt a bit warm in the library suddenly, and he noticed those that wore their robes slipped them off to hang on the backs of their chairs. It looked strange to see a lot of the students in their street clothes, compared to the uniforms they wore daily. He himself wore a pair of blue jeans and a black T-shirt.
“Hermione, could you please pass out these new patrol schedules.” The Head Girl requested. Hermione stood up then removed her robe. She smiled to the Head girl as she accepted the papers to hand out.
Draco had to take a second look at Hermione as she stood up. She was wearing a snug pair of faded jeans that had holes at the knees that were frayed at the edges. Tucked into the jeans she wore a snug fitting T-shirt in red with the Gryffindor lion embossed on the front that showed she developed quite nicely in the chest area lately. He was not the only one that noticed. Anthony from Ravenclaw was looking at her intently as she went around the table to hand out the schedules.
Draco glared at the Ravenclaw and waited for Hermione to make her way back to where she sat. She leaned over between himself and Pansy to place the schedule in front of him. When her breast brushed his shoulder, he looked up to her face to see her smirking down at him. She moved away and came around to sit in her chair as if nothing happened. She leaned over and placed her elbows on the table as she rested her chin in her raised fist.
‘She did that on purpose.’ He thought to himself, inwardly happy at this new development. He leaned back in his chair, giving Hermione side long glances, taking in the side view of her body.
“Well, if there’s nothing else, this meeting is over. Have a good holiday and see you after Christmas.” The Head Boy finished.
“You go ahead Ron, there’s a couple of books I need to look for.” Hermione said as she got up.
“Hermione, it’s the holidays, take a break from the books.” Ron teased.
She shrugged her shoulders. “Well since I’m staying here at Hogwart’s the holidays, I may as well get a head start on some assignments.”
“That’s right, I forgot about that.” Ron replied.
“My parents are going on a second honeymoon, so I volunteered to stay here for the holidays to let them have their time alone. I’ll be going home for the next holiday though. And anyway, I thought you guys would like the company here, since your parents are visiting your brother and his new wife in Romania this year.”
“Well, glad you’ll be with us ‘Mione. I’ll see you later then. I think the bunch of us are planning a game or something later, so don’t be long.” He said as he kissed her cheek and left the library after the other students.
Draco had over heard part of their conversation as he pretended to tie his shoelaces. He got up and ‘conveniently’ left his cloak and followed Pansy out of the library. He rounded the corner to go down the stairs when he stopped in his tracks. “You go ahead Pansy, I forgot my cloak.”
“Yeah, sure whatever. See you later.” She said as she turned her back and strutted away down the stairs.
He walked back into the nearest door to the library, to see his cloak still draped over the back of his chair where he left it. He went along the aisles of books, looking for her. He found her in the last section of books, reaching for a book close to the top. He leaned his shoulder against the shelf and crossed his arms enjoying the view of her backside. He gave a low whistle to let her know he is there.
Hermione heard the whistle, jumped and dropped the book to the floor. She bent down to pick it up then looked to the person who surprised her. “Malfoy! What are you doing here?”
“I have as much right to be here as you Granger.” He smirked.
“Whatever.” She shrugged then looked to him. “Why didn’t you tell Umbridge about the student you caught with ‘The Quibbler.’”
He shrugged his one shoulder. “Didn’t feel like it.” He said simply.
“What’s with you lately anyway, you’ve been…different”
He straightened himself and walked towards her. “Oh, how so Granger?” He smirked as he kept advancing.
“Well...you’ve been smiling at me.” She said quietly. “And you haven’t been calling me mudblood lately. Not that I mind, but it’s strange. Then you don’t report that....”
She never did finish that sentence as Draco had leaned over to touch his lips to hers. He moved his mouth softly over her soft, unresponsive lips. She brought her hands up against his chest to push him away “Whoa what...was...that...for?” She asked shakily.
“I wanted to, so I did.” He said candidly.
“Is that right?” She remarked as her insides were twisting and turning. Her mind went over the pros and cons on what she wanted to do in the next few seconds. ‘Oh, what the hell.’ she thought to herself.
She pushed Draco against the self as she pressed close to his body, her mouth taking what she wanted from him. Her hand went to the back of his head, pulling him closer as her lips moved against his. She’s kissed before in her life, but this...this kiss she did not want to end any time soon.
Draco groaned against her mouth as she pressed herself against him, his back pressing into the bookcase. His hands went tentatively to her waist as he deepened the kiss, his tongue coming out to taste more of her. She gave a slight moan and met his tongue shyly at first, then when he groaned into her mouth, curled her tongue around his, no longer shy. His arms came around her waist, pulling her closer, her breasts crushed against his chest.
Sooner or later, they had to surface for air. Hermione was the first to pull away. She looked up into his eyes expecting him to be mocking her; instead his gray eyes seemed to be a shade darker and confused. She backed off, away from him, feeling the chill away from his warmth. Her chest heaved as she tried to regain her breathing. “I just want to know one thing right now Malfoy?” She asked breathlessly.
“What?” His breathing just as ragged as hers.
“Why? Did you lose a bet to someone or something?”
“No Granger. No bet. I just wanted to kiss you.” He sighed. “And I would like to again.” He said a bit more softly so that she barely heard his last words.
Hermione was the most confused she has ever been in her life. This problem she could not find in her treasured books. She needed to talk to Ginny. “Well...I gotta go.” She said nervously as she looked at him one last time then grabbed up her books and snatched up her robe on the way out.
He leaned back against the shelf. “Well that was smooth.” He said to himself as he relived the kiss. It kind of freaked him out a bit, as he didn’t want the kiss to stop, she tasted so good. He strode to the chair with his cloak and headed back to his dorm. A cold shower was what needed right now.
Hermione rushed into the Gryffindor common room looking frazzled. “Hey ‘Mione, we were just about to start a game of poker. Want to play?” Ron asked.
“Huh? Oh yeah sure. Just give me minute to put my things away.” She said distractedly.
Harry looked to his usually composed friend. He first noticed the snug fitting clothing she wore then the tousled hair and the swollen lips. He wondered who she was just with to give her that look and put the dazed expression in her eyes. He was just about to get up when Ginny nudged him back down. “I’ll go.” She said as she followed Hermione.
Ginny went up to Hermione’s dorm room to see her sitting on the bed, her books cradled against her chest. “Hermione? Are you okay?”
Hermione looked to Ginny. “Gin...he kissed me.” She said quietly, still in a bit of shock.
Ginny was startled at her declaration. “What?”
“He kissed me...and I liked it.”
“Did he force you?”
“No. It was the gentlest kiss anyone has ever given to me.”
“What happened?”
“He came back to the library and found me getting some books down off a shelf. He whistled, then he came closer to me where he leaned over to kiss me, then backed away when I pushed him....”
“And...?” Ginny said, trying to get the rest of the story out.
“And....then I kissed him for all I was worth.”
Ginny tried to hide the smile. “You...kissed him?”
“Hmmm, Hmmm.” She nodded.
“Was he good?”
“Yes. Amazing. Nothing compared to the kisses that Viktor had given me last year.” She said dreamily as she got up to put her books on the desk. “He said he wanted to kiss me again.”
“Are you going to let him?”
Hermione turned to face Ginny, the worry evident on her face. “I don’t know Gin...what if it’s just a big joke to him...or...what if he just wants information for Umbridge or his father?”
Ginny got up and followed Hermione into the bathroom. “Let him make the next move Hermione. Take it day by day. Maybe Malfoy has repented his ways.” Ginny smirked.
Hermione looked at her self in the mirror. “God, it looks like I was kissed. Did anyone else notice?”
“I think Harry did?”
“I’m going to need to talk to him, but first I’ll freshen up a bit, then we’ll head down to play that game of poker.” She smiled, trying to put the kiss at the back of her mind. She washed her face and tied her hair back in a loose ponytail. She put on a sweater over her T-shirt, “I guess the T-shirt worked huh?” She smirked as she looked to Ginny.
“It probably helped it along a bit, yes.” Ginny replied tugging on Hermione’s arm to pull her downstairs, where they beat the boys in poker…repeatedly.
Chapter Four
Draco waited for the perfect opportunity to talk to Dumbledore over the next few days, and it came when Umbridge had to meet with Fudge at the Ministry of Magic. He watched as she went to the front gates to apparate away from Hogwart’s. He sighed in relief and slowly made his way to what appeared to anyone watching, the Harry. At the top of the second floor stairs, he turned to see if anyone was nearby before he went on. There was no one around. He wasn’t overly worried as the halls were practically deserted over the holidays, but you never tan tell, he had to be sure.
A short while later he was knocking on the Headmasters door. “Come in Mister Malfoy.”
Draco walked in bewildered that Dumbledore knew he was there before the door opened. “Sir.” He nodded as Dumbledore motioned him to sit down.
“So, Mister Malfoy. What brings you here?” He asked smiling kindly.
“Well, Umbridge has been talking about sacking a few of the professors.”
“Did she say who?”
“Professor Trelawney and Hagrid to start with. I heard about it a few days ago, but I had to wait until it was clear for me to come up here. Umbridge left for the Ministry right before I came up here.”
“Yes, I imagine it would look peculiar if you were seen coming up here for a visit with me.” At Draco’s nod, Dumbledore seemed to contemplate his next decision. “Draco, what I am about to tell you must not be revealed to anyone. There are a few others that know, but it could be deadly to this person, if the wrong people were to find out.”
“I promise, this won’t go farther than this room sir.”
“It may not look as strange if you were seen talking to your Head of House instead of me.” Dumbledore stated smiling.
“Professor Snape?”
“Yes, it you have any information for me you can tell Professor Snape. You see Draco...Professor Snape is on our side, and is a member of an organization that was brought together years ago to go up against Voldemort.”
“But he’s a death eater...isn’t he?” Draco asked confused.
“Yes, he is still there for Voldemort and does his bidding, but his true loyalties lie with the light side. He is one of our informants against Voldemort. So you see, if the dark side were to find out about Professor Snape he would die probably a most painful death, and we would lose a most trusted friend and a most gifted Potions master.”
“Wow...he’s good. I would never have guessed that he’s a spy.”
“There is also Professor McGonagall that you could talk to if need be.”
“Any ideas on how to stop Umbridge’s plan for the Quidditch match coming up yet?” Draco asked, still amazed at the new revelation on Snape.
“We were thinking of everyone drinking a potion or perhaps wearing some kind of charm or amulet to ward of the spell.” He sighed. “We have a few weeks yet to decide the best course of action to take.”
Dumbledore stood up and came around to the front of his desk. “Mister Malfoy...Draco, please be careful and watch your back at all times.”
“I will. There is something else, a rather odd request....” Draco started.
“Whatever it is, I will try to help.”
“Well, everyone knows you have a rather sweet tooth.” Draco smirked as he looked to the twinkle eyed Headmaster. “I would like to know if it’s possible if you could find a certain Muggle candy.”
Dumbledore smiled. “That is a rather odd request, isn’t it. What kind?”
“I am looking for a bite sized chocolate called ‘Kisses’, Hershey’s Kisses.”
“For someone special I take it?”
“Yes, I think so. Or I would like it to be anyway.”
Dumbledore went to a cupboard that was at the side of the room. “It just so happens I have some here. They are quite good.” He smiled and handed a small bag of the chocolate treats to Draco.
Draco couldn’t believe his luck. “Thank you sir.” He smiled, planning already in his head how he would give them to her.
“Now, off you go before Professor Umbridge comes back.” He walked Draco to the door. “Oh yes, I almost forgot. Have you seen the portrait of a witch in the library with long black hair?” At Draco’s nod. “Well her name is Hesper Starkey. She was a witch who studied the uses of phases of the moon in potion making. I would advise you asking her about ‘Moonglow’. She would be most helpful.”
“Uh...thank you. I will.” Draco said quietly thinking that the Headmaster was losing his mind and wondering what the hell he was going on about.
Draco had opened the door and cautiously peeked out. “I hope Miss Granger likes the chocolate Mister Malfoy.” Dumbledore smiled as he closed the door behind a very confused boy who was wondering how he knew who the chocolates were for.
Meanwhile in the Gryffindor common room, Ginny sat with Hermione, trying to cheer her up. “‘Mione, maybe he’s trying to sort out his feelings too.”
“He hasn’t even looked at me Gin...it’s been two days.” She stressfully “Maybe I turned him off with that kiss.”
“Maybe you should kiss him again.” Ginny said smirking.
Hermione couldn’t help not answering the smirk. “Maybe. What about you and Harry?” She asked to divert the questions from Draco.
“Haven’t had the chance.”
“Well, we’ll have to arrange it.” She said as she ran up the stairs to her room and rushed back in carrying a sprig of mistletoe in her hand. “We’ll just hang this over the doorway leading to the boys dorms.” She waved her wand to levitate the mistletoe in the desired spot. Said quick fastening spell and stepped back. “Now we just need to wait for that ‘chance’. The boys should be getting up soon, it’s almost noon.”
It wasn’t a long wait. As there were no classes that day, the boys took advantage in sleeping late. Harry was just about to walk through to the common room, when Hermione shouted for him to stop.
Harry looked at her as he stood still. “What? What did I do, and why do I need to stop here?”
Hermione smirked and walked over to Harry. “Look up Harry, what do you see?”
He looked up as requested. “Mistletoe.”
“And what does that mean Harry?” Hermione asked.
“That I get a kiss?” He said smiling.
“Right.” Hermione leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek. “Now I believe it’s Ginny’s turn.” She said as she stepped back, watching as Ron pressed against the wall as he passed Harry to stand beside her.
Ginny stood up and walked slowly to Harry. He turned his cheek so she could kiss it, but instead two soft hands cupped the sides of his face as her mouth came up to meet his. He was still for all of a few seconds before he responded to the kiss. The kiss started out gentle and soft, her tongue caressing the crease of his lips to invade his mouth. He opened his mouth as his tongue came out to tangle with hers. Her arms went around his neck as his arms went around her slim waist, pulling her close.
Hermione was pleased that Harry did not reject Ginny. Ron nudged her arm. “Hey Hermione, what say we leave these two alone and you join me for lunch?”
“Sounds like a brilliant idea Ron.” With a last look at the snogging couple they left through the portrait, making their way down to the Great Hall.
When their plates were filled, Ron turned to her. “How did you know?”
“Know what?” She answered.
“That the simple mistletoe kiss would end up like that? I had thought Harry liked you.”
“Did he tell you that?”
“Well, not in so many words. It was just the way he was acting towards you.”
“Yeah, I noticed that. But I don’t feel that way towards Harry. It would be like dating my brother.” She playfully grimaced, then poured herself some pumpkin juice as they talked.
At the screech above the rafters, the few students that stayed over the holidays looked up at the mail arriving through owl post. A school owl swooped down and drag a small package in front of Hermione, a very confused Hermione, as she picked up the package.
“You expecting something from you parents ‘Mione?” Ron asked.
“No. They sent their gifts a couple of days ago.”
“Well then...open it.” Ron urged.
She opened the package nervously and wrapping that silver foiled covered chocolate dropped to her empty plate. “A Hershey’s Kiss.” she said bewildered.
“Is that candy?” Ron asked, never hearing of this Muggle candy.
“Yes, it’s a Muggle chocolate.”
“Who would be giving you that? Is there a note?” Ron questioned.
She looked through the paper and found a card:
I can’t get your kiss out of my thoughts.
Meet me tonight, same place, and same time?
D.
Hermione’s insides flipped crazily as she reread the card. ‘He didn’t forget’, she thought happily to herself. She looked up to see that Draco was looking at her, a question in his eyes. She nodded to him and unwrapped the chocolate and popped into her mouth, letting the chocolate melt in her mouth.
“Is that from the person who snogged you senseless the other night?” Ron asked, not noticing the small eye exchange with Draco and Hermione.
She looked over to Ron. “What...are you talking about Ron?”
“Oh come on ‘Mione. You looked like you were on cloud nine, and you looked thoroughly kissed.” He smirked. “So, who’s the lucky guy?”
She didn’t think her friends were ready to hear who her mystery guy was. She wasn’t even sure what was going on between them yet. “Ron, don’t be hurt over this, but I’d like to keep that to myself for now.”
He looked at her worriedly. “Sure Hermione. I’m here when you need to talk to someone though, okay?”
Hermione hugged Ron tight. “Thanks. I’ll remember that.” Then started to laugh. “Should we see if they came up for air yet?”
“No. Not yet. Maybe after dessert.” He replied as he placed a piece of pie on both of their plates. “So how about those Chudley Cannons...” Ron started.
Hermione smirked and rolled her eyes mockingly as Ron recounted a recent game his favorite Quidditch team played. She glanced up to see Draco watching her. She licked her lips nervously as he looked at her intently. She smiled mischievously as she noticed the way he was looking at her mouth. She ran her finger over her plate, the apple pie filling coating her finger and brought it to her lips. The tip of her tongue darted out licking the filling slowly, savoring the taste. She saw Draco’s eyes turn a smoky gray color as she put the finger into her mouth, licking the filling off. She never imagined listening to the seventh years talk or reading those books of Ginny’s could be so liberating. She smiled wickedly and broke Draco’s gaze and nudged Ron. “How about a game of Wizard’s chess Ron?”
“Sure, let’s go.” He replied as he spooned the last bite of pie into his mouth.
Draco watched as the two of them left the Great Hall. He shifted on the bench uncomfortably, pulling the school robes around his lap. He was sporting an erection that didn’t seem to quit. Watching Hermione as she licked the pie filling off her finger, her tongue running up and down, licking it clean. He imagined quite clearly what other uses that tongue of hers could do. He couldn’t believe that she actually agreed to meet with him, and couldn’t wait for tonight. He wanted to taste those lips of hers again.
It was not hard to slip away from the Gryffindor common room later that night. Ron was talking enthusiastically to Fred and George about Quidditch, while Harry was cozying with Ginny in front of the fire. She went first to Harry’s trunk upstairs to ‘borrow’ his Marauders Map for later. The map showed the school layout and also showed dots where people were, with their names underneath. She did not need to get caught sneaking around later by Filch or Umbridge.
After tucking the map in her sweater pocket she left feeling a little nervous at the prospect of seeing Draco again. She had some questions she needed answers to.
Hermione would have been surprised to see that Draco was as nervous as she was as he paced the library waiting for her. There was only one other student that sat in the library, but as Draco paced by him for about the fifth time, the student packed up his books and left. He went to the last aisle of books and looked over the titles to take away some of his nervousness.
He was leaning over reading the titles to the old books when he heard a whistle. He looked up to see Hermione in much of the same position, as he was the other day. Her shoulder leaning against the shelf, her arms crossed in front of her. “You made it.” He said as he stood up, hesitant to approach her.
“Yes. I made it.” She smirked. “Thanks for the Hershey’s Kiss.”
“They’re not as good as the real thing though.” He replied as he stepped closer.
She met him about half way. “No it isn’t.” She said quietly as he placed his hands at her hips to pull her closer.
He softly kissed the corner of her mouth then moved to claim her waiting lips. They kissed slowly at first, until Hermione probed her tongue against his lips. He moaned low in his throat as he pulled her hard against his body.
Hermione’s knees went weak as she felt how hard he was against her lower belly. She didn’t have much experience in this sort of thing, but she knew he wanted her, and that was a very heady feeling for her. She pulled away to lean her forehead on his shoulder, feeling the way his heart beat erratically against her hand. “Draco...we need to talk. I need some answers before I can continue with this.”
He hugged her close, his hand running up and down her back. “If I can. But not here.”
“Where then?”
“Maybe...” He started as he grabbed her hand to pull her up some stairs in a secluded forgotten corner to face a large portrait of a black haired witch. “Dumbledore told me about this.”
They both looked at the witch who was star gazing and writing down her observations. “Excuse me, Mistress Starkey.” Draco said to get her attention.
The witch looked at the young couple and smiled, “What do I owe this pleasure? No one talks to me much in this corner.”
“I wonder if you would open this portal.” Draco asked.
“And the password would be?”
“Moonglow.”
The witch smiled and nodded her head regally. “Very well then.” The portrait opened quietly for Draco to step through.
He walked in first, holding Hermione’s hand behind him. As they entered, the wall scones magically lit as they passed. They came upon a mid-sized room that even not used, as far as they knew, was spotless. The house elves were busy even in here as there was not a speck of dust anywhere.
They looked around the room, noticing the large desk with shelves of books that lined the wall behind it. There was a large fireplace with a comfy looking couch and a thick fur rug that was situated in front of it. Hermione of course went to the bookshelves first. “This is amazing. I didn’t even know this room existed.” She looked to Draco who was gazing out the window that overlooked the lake. “How did you find out about this place?”
He went to the couch and sat, leaning his back against the cushions. “Dumbledore told me about it in his usual off hand way.” He smirked.
She also went to the couch to sit cross-legged facing Draco. “So...why me?”
He took her hand in his and rubbed the pad of his thumb across her knuckles. “Believe me I tried to fight the way I was starting to feel for you.” He smirked. “Ever since last year at the Yule Ball I began to take more notice of you. You were beautiful Hermione.” He finished as he kissed her knuckles, sending a shiver up her arm.
“Thank you. But why now?”
He looked into her eyes. “You have been constantly in my thoughts and in my dreams as of late. I didn’t think you would want me, so I stayed away.”
“You had a hard time showing it to me Malfoy. You were a bloody git.” She said smiling.
“I know. I had to be. There’s a certain way people expect me to act, and unfortunately I can’t change that...not yet.”
“What do you mean, not yet?”
He leaned back again on the couch, his one hand still holding hers. “Recently I found out a few things that have changed the way I look at things in my life.”
“Like what?”
“I was about to report to Umbridge one night....hard to believe that was just last week...anyway, I overheard her and my father making plans against the school and Potter.”
“What plans? We should tell Dumbledore and Harry.” She said as she started to get up.
“Hermione...I already told Dumbledore...as for Potter, I don’t think he would believe me.”
“You’re probably right. What are the plans?”
“At the next Quidditch game, when the snitch is caught, a wave of magic will go throughout the pitch making everyone lose their magical abilities.”
“But...the next game Gryffindor plays against Slytherin. You would be affected too.”
He looked at her again then sat up, leaning his elbows on his knees. “I know. My father didn’t care.” He said dejectedly.
“Wouldn’t Umbridge be affected also?”
“She’s not planning on being there, Ministry business.” He sighed. “She is also one of Voldemort’s followers.”
“Well that’s no surprise. She is evil. You should have seen what Harry had to do in detention with her...write lines on paper with a sharpened quill, which in turn wrote on the top of his hand. The ink was his blood! It took a long time to heal.” Her anger was rising as she got up and paced. “But how could we ward off the spell at the Quidditch game? If she succeeded in the plan, that would leave the professors powerless also. The school would be vulnerable against attack from Voldemort.”
“I think that’s the plan Hermione.” He said as he watched her pace.
“Has Dumbledore any ideas?”
“He was thinking a potion...” He started.
“No. Wouldn’t work...not all the students will want to drink it.”
“An amulet of some kind?”
“How could you make sure that everyone was actually wearing it to the game?”
“True any other ideas?” Draco asked.
She paced a few times in front of him, deep in thought. “How about charming the entrances of the pitch...maybe having an invisible shield of some sort put up. Once someone passes through it could...I don’t know...maybe cover the body with the protective spell somehow.” She stopped her pacing. “You know it’s too bad that the snitch couldn’t find it’s way to a death eater meeting.” She smirked as she continued to pace.
Draco watched her pace. “Hermione.”
“Hmmm?” She mumbled distractedly.
“Come here.” He asked.
She stopped pacing and smiled down at him as he sat with a bemused expression. “I was rambling, wasn’t I?” As she sat down beside him.
“A bit.” He replied as he leaned over to kiss her. His tongue worked its way along her bottom lip until she opened for him. She took his tongue into her mouth and gave a light suction on it, making him groan into her mouth. He placed his hand at her waist and went along her back as he shifted her into a more horizontal position.
Her one arm went around his neck as her fingers played with the ends of his hair, her other hand lay flat against his chest. She could feel the play of muscle as his arm shifted around her back.
His lips left hers as he kissed the corner of her mouth, then moved down to her neck, leaving a wet trail from his kisses. She bent her head to the one side as he nibbled along the slim column of her neck. She moaned as he bit into a particular sensitive spot by her ear and put her leg over his thigh, instinctively trying to pull him closer.
He drew back and gazed at the love bite he put on her neck, marking her as his. ‘She tasted so good,’ he thought to himself as he nuzzled into her neck. He had a taste, now he wanted more of her. He wanted to kiss his way all over her body makes her cry out his name in pleasure. He wanted her so bad, but didn’t want to rush her into anything she may regret later. He kissed her swollen lips softly, “I think we better stop Hermione, before we go too far.”
Hermione’s body was tingling with new sensations for him. She wanted him to touch her more, and she wanted to touch him, but knew he was right. She sighed, “When can I see you again?”
“Soon. I’ll have to let you know. We have to keep this quiet for awhile.” He said regretfully.
“I understand. Be careful with Umbridge Draco.”
“I will.” He kissed her chin as he untangled his legs from hers to sit up.
“Can I tell Harry and Ron about the Quidditch game?”
“I don’t think they’ll believe that I’ve changed Hermione. You can try, but don’t get your hopes up. There’s too much bad history between the three of us to fix just like that. And try not to take offence if I happen to say or do anything against you. I have to let them believe that there is still a rivalry between us.”
“I’ll try.” She looked to her watch. “We just missed curfew. We’ll have to be careful going back to our dorms.”
Draco smiled. “There’s a secret passage from a bookcase just outside of the library that leads right to the dungeons. Not sure if there’s one that goes up though.”
She took out Harry’s map. “Well, I’ll just check if the coast is clear first.” She looked down at the blank parchment and tapped her wand against it. “I solemnly swear I am up to no good.” She said as the map showed the layout of the school.
“Hey, that’s pretty cool. Where did you get it?”
“It’s Harry’s. It was give to him from the Weasley twins. I wonder if they know of any secret passages. I’ll have to ask.” She looked down at the map. “You’ll have to be careful, looks like Filch is wandering the dungeon corridors.” As she pointed to the dot that was moving with his name underneath it. “Looks clear for me though.”
She kept the map in her hand as she gave Draco one last lingering kiss. “Soon.” She smiled then turned to go, Draco following close behind her out of the room.
Draco made his way carefully to the dungeons and sighed in relief when he reached the Slytherin common room. He stopped to talk to a few other students before making his way to his rooms. He changed for bed and lay on his back, reliving the kiss, the taste, the feel of her under him, and felt himself hardening at the memory. He wanted her, but he would bet she was a virgin. He didn’t want to rush things and scare her off, he knew she would be worth the wait.

Ginny was watching Hermione’s actions, while Harry was busy talking Quidditch with Ron. She then looked over to Draco whose face was flushed and his look was heated with desire. That one look of his showed Ginny that he wasn’t just using Hermione, he genuinely cared for her.
Hermione glanced away to see that Ginny was smirking at her. “I’ll...uh...meet you back upstairs guys. I need to owl my parents.” She said as she got up giving a fleeting glance back to Draco.
Draco waited until she left the Great Hall, then made an excuse to leave the table. He slowly made his way out of the doors and looked either way for the red sweater she was wearing. He also looked for anyone else that may be around before following her. He saw her walk into an empty classroom and quickened his steps to find her.
Hermione smiled when she glimpsed back to see him not far behind her. She knew this classroom was empty, so she slipped inside, to await her prey. She waited behind the door until she saw his head peak through the door before he came through. She grasped his shirt collar and pulled him i
